Man Held on Suspicion of Deliberate Homicide

BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The woman killed in an apparent murder in Billings Heights over the weekend has been identified as 67-year-old Cynthia Cook.

29-year-old Jonah Bergman of Billings, the victim’s son, is the suspect and has been arrested. Bail has been set at $500,000.

The cause of death has been determined to be multiple stab wounds.

Police Lieutenant Brandon Wooley said the victim had suspicious signs of trauma when law enforcement found her body in a residence on Saturday after a welfare check was requested.

Wooley says the suspect was found walking across a local street and was taken into custody after being questioned.
