Great Falls based McLaughlin Center was recently awarded a $13.8 million dollar grant to expand their research enterprise and launch the Center for Integrated Biomedical and Rural Health Research.
The new center is part of the National Institute of Health’s Centers of Biomedical Research Excellence. McLaughlin is the first recipient of the grant outside of MSU and UM.
The funding operates through three phases of five years each. The first phase award to McLaughlin is a $5 million grant to strengthen biomedical research infrastructure beyond the university structure. It will provide opportunity and solutions for rural Montanans.
