HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana Department of Agriculture is seeking applications from growers interested in serving on an Oilseed Advisory Committee.
MDA received a verified petition from 25 Montana growers to create an Oilseed Advisory Committee in 2019.
Of the 25 signees of the petition, the majority were from north-central Montana. That includes eight from Conrad, six from Sunburst, two from Valier, and one each from Havre, Chester, Sweet Grass, Box Elder, Whitewater, Oilmont, Brady and Ledger.
After receiving the petition, MDA held two listening sessions, Growers present at these meetings unanimously expressed their support for proceeding with the formation of a committee.
Those interested in serving on the committee can find an application on the MDA website. Applications can be submitted by email to danielle.jones@mt.gov or by mail to 302 N. Roberts, Helena MT 59601.
The deadline for applications is Tuesday, March 31.
