HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) -The Montana Department of Transportation would like to notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to improve the roadway surfacing along Boulevard Avenue and 8th Avenue West within the city limits of Havre.
A press release says that the project begins at 11th Street and Boulevard Avenue and extends north to the 8th Avenue West intersection and continues northeast on 8th Avenue West, ending at West 2nd Street, for a total of 0.79 miles.
Proposed work includes pulverizing the existing surface, applying new asphalt surfacing and upgrading Americans With Disabilities Act-compliant ramps and culverts where necessary, then finishing with a seal and cover, upgraded pavement markings and signage.
The purpose of the project is to extend the service life of the roadway and take a cost-effective action to preserve and maintain the existing roadway.
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in 2020, depending on completion of all project development activities and availability of funding. No new right-of-way will be needed, but utility relocations are required.
