(Helena) – Governer Greg Gianforte recently announced that Montana was ranked as the 12th best state in which to start a business for 2026.
WalletHub compared 50 states using 25 aspects, categorized in three divisions – business environment, access to resources, and business cost. Florida, Utah, and Texas topped the list respectively.
Gianforte has prioritized creating the best business environment and opened opportunity to Montanans through simplifying state income brackets, providing tax cuts to citizens at every income level, securing long term tax relief, and adding affordable workforce housing.
Last year, Entrepreneur Media named Montana the best state for business startup, and WalletHub recognized Bozeman as the fourth best small city in the US to start a business.
