(Havre) – On Saturday, September 30th Montana State University Northern will be having its Homecoming Day celebration at 11am. Melanie Skoyen the Director of Development at Montana State University Northern talks about the event.

“So, we are planning the event right here on campus in Cowen Hall courtyard we are going to have live music by velvet skyline some mechanical bull riding and face painting.”

She continues by talking about the weather for the event and its cost.

“We’re really hoping that the weathers going to cooperate, and we’ll be able to have all these events here on campus. we’re wanting to draw a big crowd. It doesn’t cost anything to attend as far as the pre-game festivities and yeah we’d just love to see a great turnout for our lights.”

She also talked about the history of the event.

“So, it’s just part of our 6-week student engagement and we wanted to finish with a big celebration for homecoming. Our main focus is to get students involved keep them here on the weekend and really encouraging them to go to a sporting event, so we had our volleyball game on Wednesday night and our Football game is of course on Saturday. So then just something to bring the whole community to campus to get students excited about our football game, our homecoming game. And just have an activity on campus, or an event on campus that would be geared toward the whole family.”
