HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – The Office of Governor Greg Gianforte has announced that Montana’s unemployment rate for November was 2.8 percent, well below the national rate of 4.2 percent.
This is a decrease of 0.3 percent from October and ties the February 2007 mark for the lowest rate ever recorded in Montana.
A press release says over 3,000 jobs were created in November. This includes payroll, agricultural, and self-employed workers.
Private payroll employment increased by 3,100 jobs, while public sector payroll employment saw a small decline.
The number of employed Montanans hit a new record high of over 528,000, while the number of unemployed Montanans dropped to just over 15,400, the lowest number of job seekers without work since 2007.
