MSU-Northern Multicultural Center Hosting Latin Concert Next Week

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) –In conjunction with Hispanic Heritage Month, the MSU-Northern Multicultural Center is hosting a latin concert on Friday, Oct. 11 at 6 pm at the MSUN SUB building.

Jasmine Carbajal is a member of the committee for Hispanic Heritage Month for the Multicultural Center, and says that the performers, John Roberts and Pan Blanco, will present a unique blend of music.

“They are really well known in bigger cities here in the state,” Carbajal says. “They play music both in Spanish and English, and even in Portuguese. They blend a lot of that funk, African and Latin grooves with their instruments. So it’s a very cool musical and cultural experience for the audience.”

Although the concert is free, there will be food and drink available for purchase.

“Beaver Creek Golf Course will be selling alcoholic beverages to anyone 21 or over. And then Guadalajara will have a nacho bar. All the proceeds from the nachos will go the Spanish club at the high school.”

Prior to the concert, there will be free salsa lessons at 5:30 pm led by teacher Michael Bober.
