HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Montana State University-Northern Alumni Foundation announced that they have received an estate bequest of $682,000 to create an endowed scholarship fund for Education students.
In a press release, Chancellor Greg Kegel said, “this is a legacy gift in every way. This endowment will allow MSU-Northern to help future teachers attain their degrees for generations to come.”
Olive and Elmer Sanborn provided the bequest, which is one of the largest ever received by the university.
in 1964, the Sanborns moved to Montana and in 1969, Olive graduated from Northern Montana College with an elementary education degree. She taught at the School in Fort Benton while Elmer farmed near Loma.
