HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Northern Agricultural Research Center will host their annual Field Day on Thursday in conjunction with the Havre Chamber of Commerce Agribusiness Committee Ag Appreciation Day. NARC Superintendent Darrin Boss says they will have four tours available to talk about the research the Center has been doing.
“This year we’re going to have four separate tours so a producers will have an opportunity to select two of those back to back. The tours will start from 4 to 5:30. We’ll come back in. We’ll load the wagons back up again, and we’ll start from 5:30 to 7.”
Boss says they will also have a steak dinner that evening at 7 PM.
“In conjunction with the Havre Area Chamber Agribusiness Committee, we’re going to have their Agricultural Celebration Banquet. They help us out a great deal with the tours and the funding of the free dinner. It’ll be a steak dinner with locally-grown products. We’re always happy to partner with those people and the sponsors that make that happen through our agribusiness community and Havre Chamber businesses.”
Some of the tours available this year include pulse crops, beef cattle, root health, and their traditional breeder tour. Registration starts at 3:30 PM at the Northern Ag Research Center near Fort Assiniboine south of Havre.
