HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Governor Greg Gianforte has announced the approval of a request from Benefis Health System in Great Falls for 20 Montana National Guardsmen to assist in their hospital’s COVID-19 response.
The 20 Guardsmen will begin assisting Benefis next weekend. They will provide non-medical ICU assistance, environmental services, patient data entry and COVID testing.
Assistance from Montana National Guard members is also being provided to hospitals in Missoula, Butte, Bozeman and Billings.
A press release says the Governor’s office anticipates more requests for Guard resources and will address needs as they arise.
