There will be plenty of New Media Broadcasters listening area coaches who will have their names called on Friday in Great Falls for the 2024 Montana Coaches Association Awards Program.
For Class B/C Tennis, Chinook’s Janelle Deanon won the award for “Coach of the Year”, while Sugarbeeters wrestling coach Ben Stroh was nominated.
For Havre, former activities director and coach Dennis Murphy will be given the MCA Service Award. The present-day Blue Pony coaches included track and field coach Kari Filius for both the boys’ and the girls’ section for A-B swimming, coach Jill Cammon.
Turning the attention to the 9C schools, North Star standout Carter Campbell will receive his MCA Scholarship, which he will use while running for MSU-Northern starting this fall. Fort Benton had a couple of nominees in wrestling coach Colby Cline and B/C football coach Monte Giese.
Former Havre High swimming coach Bill Kilgore will be featured in the “In Memoriam” portion of the ceremony along with former Rocky Boy football and track and field coach Greg Ellison.
