Northern Chancellor Kegel to Receive Eight Percent Raise

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern Chancellor Greg Kegel is set to receive a pay raise.

The Montana University Board of Regent’s approved the eight percent raise during a meeting earlier this month.

The eight percent increase raises Kegel’s base salary to $193,800, which is over $14,000 more than what he has previously been earning.

During the meeting, Montana State President Waded Cruzado lauded Kegel for fundraising efforts, stabilizing enrollment

The raise will take effect on February 1 after the board voted 6-1 in approval.

During the meeting, the board also approved raises for certain Northern employees. In both January 2020 and 2021, classified staff members will receive a raise of either 50 cents or 2 percent, whichever is greater.

A raise of $780 or 2 percent, whichever is greater, was also approved for salaried faculty for both 2020 and 2021. The raises were unanimously passed by the board.
