HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Northern Montana Health Care is continuing the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
NMHC Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator Julianne LaSmith says their COVID-19 clinic is seeing between 20 and 30 patients a day. However, due to an extreme lack of testing, very few people are being tested.
“There are some people that we need to know whether or not they had it, because of exposure and those type of elements. The majority of people that are suspected are asked to go home and self-isolate.”
In terms of personal protective equipment, LaSmith thanks the community for their support, as they’ve received over 700 masks, along with other equipment.
“The community has been really great about helping us build up our store. But we’re not through it and we’re still building and still trying to get as much as we can.”
As of Tuesday afternoon, NMHC has tested 14 people for COVID-19, with one positive test and three pending. They have the ability to conduct about 40 more tests.
The alternative flu clinic is located at 124 13th Street. Patients needing to be assessed by a healthcare professional are asked to call 262-1570.
Those with personal protective equipment to donate are asked to bring them to the 2nd floor Emergency Department doors at Northern Montana Hospital.
