HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Hundreds of students and alumni are expected to attend Montana State University-Northern’s Spring Career Fair this Thursday.
Career Center Director Mary Heller says 44 employers will be on hand, with the majority of them in the trade industry.
“33 out of the 44 are focused on trades. We’ve got electrical companies, we’ve got a plumbing company, diesel, automotive, welding. it’s because the trades industry is hurting so bad and we’ve seen the trend definitely focus more on that in recent years.”
Along with employers from across Montana, there will also be companies from Oregon, Washington, Texas and Canada.
Heller says 11 of the employers will stay on campus after the fair to conduct interviews with students.
“We have a high number of students who get either a full-time job placement or an internship from those interviews. The rest of the employers are here to network, some of them might just take resumes. And the networking is good for the students too.”
All currently enrolled students, as well as alumni, are welcome to attend. The fair is scheduled to take place from 9 AM to noon at the Armory Gym.
