HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern will host their annual Fall Career Fair on Monday, October 14th in the Armory Gym. Northern’s Career Center Director Mary Heller says this is their largest fall career fair ever. She says that 32 of the registered employers are looking for students in the diesel, automotive and ag mechanics programs.
“One of the biggest things we’re excited about is we broke a record. In the past, we’d always had about 38 employers registered and we, just today, broke a record. We got 43 registered. So, as of October 7th, we have 43 employers.”
Heller says their trade programs have been hit with employers nationwide who can’t find enough employees.
“I think we could have 1,000 students in our diesel program and I don’t think it would be enough. We are getting hit so hard with that industry in particular, but also the electrical, plumbing, welding, machining. They’re all in desperate need of employees.”
The Career Fair will run from 9 AM to noon at the Armory Gym and all currently enrolled students and alumni are invited to attend. Both the north and south doors will be open this year.
