The Havre Northstars American Legion Baseball Team had a solid showing over the weekend at the Bitteroot Bucs Invite in Florence, taking second place.
Havre posted a record of 3 wins, 1 loss, and 1 tie at the Tournament, which concluded with a thrilling championship game on Sunday in which the Northstars fell just short, losing 9-8 to the Bitteroot Bucs A.
Havre held an 8-7 lead after four innings, but the Bucs managed to score the final two runs of the ballgame to take the championship.
Havre’s three wins in the tournament were: 8-3 over the Belgrade Bandits, 15-8 over Bitterroot Red Sox B, and 7-3 over Lewistown Redbirds A. The Northstars other contest was a 5-5 tie with the Bitteroot Bucs A on Saturday.
The Northstars record on the season is now 30 wins, 18 losses and 1 tie.
