Evan Suarez – Havre, MT – The Havre Northstars complete the weekend sweep of the Medicine Hat Knights and the Lethbridge Miners finishing their 2026 regular season on an impressive nine game winning streak.
In their first game of two, the Northstars defeated the Miners 4-0 thanks to a strong starting pitching performance from Quinn Elliot.
Three runs came in the bottom of the second for Havre, and then one more in the bottom of the third and that’s all that was needed to secure the win in game one.
Tyson Brandon and Kody Standiford each collected multiple hits for Havre in the game as well as one RBI each. Quinn Elliot shut down the Miners tossing 6 shutout innings allowing only five hits and striking out seven.
Teegan Solomon was called upon to shut the door in the top of the seventh inning, and he delivered retiring the 7,8,9 hitters of the Miners in order.
Like their first game of the day, the Northstars completed the day sweep of the Miners winning the game 7-2 thanks to a complete game from Kody Standiford.
Through seven innings, Standiford allowed two runs (only one which was earned) on four hits while also striking out four. After falling early 0-2, the Northstars had to answer quickly and they did.
They responded with two of their own in the bottom of the first thanks to RBIs from Teegan Solomon and Connor Essert.
Then in the bottom of the second Archer Sawdey broke up the tie with an RBI single which would eventually end up being all that Havre would need to secure the win.
After finishing the season scorching hot, the Havre Northstars have now put themselves into first place in the North A standings with a final overall record of 30-17-1, and a final conference record of 23-5.
