HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Montana State University-Northern hosted over 250 high school students for the 12th Annual TekNoXpo and the first annual ShowCASE, designed to show the many programs of the College of Arts Science and Education, or CASE.
Holly Haas of Montana Career Pathways says there was a record 257 students from 18 high schools in attendance. The students she spoke with responded positively to the experience.
“I heard nothing but positive comments from all of them,” Haas says. “They were all very engaging and hands-on activities for everybody. We had a great show for industry partners that showed up.”
Haas added that moving the event from the fall to the spring played a major role in increased student turnout.
“It was a large impact from moving it to the fall from the spring,” Haas says. “There’s just a lot more leeway and travel funds to be left for the high schools to be able to bring their students up. Just because there are so much activities going on in the spring semester.”
