HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Farm Service Agency wants to remind all producers to stop by their office and pick up their 2019 crop certification maps. Executive Director Russell Snedigar says all cropland must be reported to maintain eligibility for program payments.
“We always try to get our map packets put together and get them out in the hands of the producers, so when they hit the field they can record the information on the maps correctly. They’re all ready to go out the door and if they’re not picked up by approximately the middle of the month, we’re going to just put them out in the mail so people have them timely.”
Snedigar also says that producers should contact his office if they suffered livestock losses because of adverse weather.
“If you suffered livestock loss this spring because of adverse weather, please contact the FSA Office. For 2019 livestock, owners must file a notice of loss within 30 calendar days of when the death loss is first apparent.”
The spring crop certification deadline is July 15th. Snedigar says he will keep producers updated on the Farm Bill once they receive more information.
