HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – New Year’s Eve is quickly approaching, and there will be a pair of programs available on Tuesday night in Havre to get people around town safely.
There is the year-round Designated Driver Ticket program, which provides sober drivers with free non-alcoholic drinks and enters them into drawings to win up to $200.
The other program is the Safe and Sober program, which is put together by Havre’s Help Committee, SAAM Coalition and Havre Ford, among others. From 5:30 PM to 2:30 AM on New Year’s Eve, this program provides free rides in town.
Hi-Line Tavern Association President Tom Farnham urges people to be responsible and to take advantage of these services.
“If you want a ride home, make sure you call and get a ride home so you get home safe, and all the taverns want you to do the same thing. If you need a ride use a designated driver card or else call Havre Ford and make sure you get home safe.”
The number to call for a free ride with the Safe and Sober program is 265-1700.
