GREAT FALLS, Mont. (NMB) – Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks seeks public comment on a proposal to stock tiger muskie in Yellow Water and Big Casino Creek reservoirs in central Montana.
A press release says that the recreational fisheries at the proposed reservoirs currently have too many non-game species. The goal of the proposed tiger muskie stocking is to provide biological suppression of the non-game fish species.
The proposal is detailed in the Environmental Assessment, which summarizes and analyzes the proposed action, identified alternatives, and potential impacts to the physical and human environment.
The EA will be open for public comment until May 17th. Copies are available at fwp.mt.gov and the Lewistown Area Resource Office.
