HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – The Hill County Commissioners have appointed Lorren Schlotfeldt as the County Superintendent of Schools.
Schlotfeldt was one of two finalists to be interviewed by the Commission after previous County Superintendent Marie Deegan declined to stay in the position despite earning the most write-in votes in the November Election.
Schlotfeldt was recently honored by the Department of Labor and Industry with the 2020 Montana Registered Apprenticeship award for his 14 years of providing exceptional instruction and for helping plumbing apprentices pursue successful careers at Montana State University-Northern.
According to Montana Law, County Superintendents must hold a current teaching certificate and have at least three years of teaching experience.
In Hill County, the job is part-time.
