Senator Russ Tempel “will likely oppose” SB90

(Havre) The Montana State Legislature heard Senate Bill 90 last week, which seeks to re-appropriate tax revenue to relieve some of the burden of Montana property taxes.

Critics of the bill, however, say that the money being reassigned is already being assigned to things crucial to certain communities; in Hill County it would namely be the tourism funding the Havre Area Chamber of Commerce was promised earlier this year.

New Media Broadcasters spoke with Senator of District 14, Russ Tempel, who says that he acknowledges the issue but believes this would be a misstep.

Tempel told NMB that he’ll likely oppose the bill.
