Havre, MT – The MSU-Northern Skylights hosted Division II Minot State University Sunday Afternoon for a non-conference exhibition match up. The Skylights pulled away in a tightly contested battle 67-59.
Post-game Coach Mouat told New Media Broadcasters that when their defense plays strong and his team shoots well their potential is high.
“I credit our defense and our rebounding for keeping us in the game. Third quarter they had some offensive rebounds that hurt us but for the most part our defense kept us hanging around because we weren’t shooting the ball well. So once we got a few shots to fall especially some threes they helped a lot. We had some early foul trouble. You know it show, when we shoot the ball well, we have a chance to be pretty good and we didn’t do it till way late in the game, so we were happy about that. Just proud of the kids for showing up being ready to go after a very big win on Thursday that there could be a very easy let down but there wasn’t any.” Coach Mouat said.
Next up for the Skylights they will tipoff at 4p.m. be at Bellevue University on Friday November 21. Then the Skylights travel to Saturday November 22, at 4p.m. in Madison South Dakota against the Trojans of Dakota State.
