Havre, MT – MSU-Northern Skylights basketball made their mark on the 2026 Frontier Conference tournament upsetting a nationally ranked Rocky Mountain College in the first round 82-74. The Skylights season did not continue after their second-round loss to a top ten team in Dakota State.
Head coach of the Skylights Chris Mouat knows his team gave everything they had in the conference tournament and was proud of their performance.
“I think our kids went to Butte with a purpose and a plan and I thought they did an outstanding job of executing the game plan, especially against Rocky. The kids bought in and they executed very well and I am just happy for them to get the win. it was a great game for us we were happy it and again a tough one the second day against a very very good team.” Mouat stated.
The Skylights finished the season 17-12 and 12-10 in Frontier Conference play.
