Skylights Sign Juco Transfer

Havre, MT – Montana State University-Northern women’s basketball coach Chris Mouat has announced the signing of Jersey Vogel to join the Skylight program this fall. Vogel is a 5’8″ transfer guard, who spent one year at Juco Dakota College at Bottineau.

Skylights head coach Chris Mouat said Vogel is a great scoring addition to the team. “She played on a team that their record wasn’t great and she was a high high scorer. The one thing that jumps to me is her free throw attempts. She shot almost 200 free throws last year and I think shot 85 percent. That’s a lot of attempts which tells you she can get to the rim. We’ll just see how it equates in the Frontier [Conference].” Mouat said.

In her lone season as a freshman at Bottineau Vogel averaged 19.3 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. She shot 39% from the field and 32% from behind the arc and shot a very strong 85 percent from the foul line.

Jersey graduated from Linton HS in North Dakota where she scored over 1,000 points in her career averaging nearly 20 points per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. Vogel plans on majoring in business with an agriculture minor at MSU-Northern.
