After beating No. 4 Carroll earlier in the day to open the 2024 Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament, the fifth-seeded MSU-Northern Skylights earned a date with No. 1 Providence for a Friday evening semifinal. The result was as it had been all season long when the Argos and Skylights got together, which was a Providence victory, this time (25-18, 27-25, 25-19).
The length of the Argos was too much for the Skylights as Cabry Taylor provided 13 kills and two blocks. Ryann Eddins added 12 kills herself. Setter of the year in the conference Bella Thompson had 38 of them on this night.
In her final game as a member of the Skylights, senior Alana Graves again led the team in kills with 13. Macee Murphy chipped in 17 assists, while Baily Egan had 11 digs.
MSU-Northern finished 13-16 overall during 2024 and had signature wins over Montana Tech, Rocky Mountain twice, and Carroll twice. After losing just one senior last year, the Skylights will see five players depart the program due to graduation.
Providence is into Saturday’s Frontier Conference Volleyball Tournament Final and that match will begin at 7pm.
