Snipes Ruiz to Replace Former Judge Dan Boucher

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Monday, Governor Steve Bullock announced Kaydee Snipes Ruiz from Havre has been appointed as the district judge for the 12th Judicial District.

A press release from the State Bar of Montana says that Snipes Ruiz will take over for former Judge Dan Boucher, who retired in November after eight years on the bench.

She was one of four attorneys who applied for the position. The 12th Judicial District covers Hill, Liberty and Chouteau Counties.

Snipes Ruiz has served since June 2014 as regional deputy public defender for the Office of the State Public Defender’s Havre office. Before joining the OPD, she was an associate attorney at Lorang Law in Havre.

She won the state of Montana Governor’s Award for Excellence in 2016 for her work with the public defender’s office.
