Spring Into the Past Festival Kicks Off on June 7th

HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Saturday, June 8th, the Montana Actors’ Theatre will be performing Cyrano de Bergerac in conjunction with a Spring Into The Past festival. Artistic Director Jay Pyette says everything will take place outdoors on the Montana State University-Northern campus between Pershing Hall and the Library.

“We are doing a, what we call a Spring Into The Past festival. So, it’s kind of like a Renaissance-themed fair. So, we’ll have vendors and crafts and games and food and beer and wine and all that going on from 2 o’clock on Saturday, all the way up to 7 when we have the show.”

Pyette says they will also be hosting a home brewing contest for locals.

“There’s a lot of people in town who brew. So, we thought let’s just have a contest where everybody who thinks they brew good beer, bring it in. It’ll be a blind judging, of course, so we won’t know whose beer is whose. And the brewmaster from Hell’s Basement Brewery in Medicine Hat is going to be the judge.”

A preview of this free, family-friendly festival will start on Friday, June 7th at 5 PM with a few vendors, and the show starting at 7.
