Teenager accused of attempted murder appears in court.

(Great Falls) A teenager in Great Falls is being charged with deliberate homicide after an assault case from last year that left Great Falls resident Jake Kraus in the ICU with a traumatic brain injury.

At the time police responded to a report that a group of people were fighting near an alley way out of view from the main road.

The current suspect is a 14-year-old boy who appeared from the Cascade County Detention Center via zoom for his first phase of court hearings.

The court will ultimately decide if the case will proceed to trial in district court or if the suspect will be tried in youth court.

Kraus’s family members say his recovery is still ongoing.
