HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – U.S. Senators Steve Daines and Jon Tester announced March 21 that their bipartisan GI Bill was approved and signed by President Trump.
Daines said, “During these times of uncertainty, veterans shouldn’t have to worry about losing their GI benefits. I’m glad that Congress came together to pass this important bill.”
The bipartisan bill titled, Emergency GI Fix for Coronavirus School Closures, provides student veterans the continuance of full benefits amid University closures and the sudden switch to online class formats.
Tester said, “As more schools move to an online curriculum and make necessary adjustments during this crisis, it’s increasingly important that we provide students with the financial support they need. Folks who served our nation in uniform can breathe easy knowing that this law helps give them the financial stability they earned.”
