Tester Nominates Local Students for Military Academies

 

WASHINGTON, Mont. (NMB) – U.S. Senator Jon Tester has announced the nomination of 20 High School students to be admitted into the country’s four most prestigious service academies.

Tester says the selections were made based on academic accomplishments, extracurricular activities, and commitment to serving and leading in the United States military.

Several local students were nominated, including:

Havre

  • Riley Pleninger – who is nominated for service in the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy.
  • Orion Thivierge – who is nominated for service in the U.S. Naval Academy

Harlem

  • Michael King – who is nominated for the U.S. Military Academy

Glasgow

  • Dalton Sand – U.S. Military Academy, U.S. Air Force Academy, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy

To attend the U.S. Military, Naval, Air Force, or Merchant Marine Academies, a student must be nominated by a member of Congress.
