U.S. SENATE (NMB) – Community health centers in Montana got a big boost Tuesday, thanks to U.S. Senator Jon Tester.
As part of his mission to deliver affordable heath care to all Montanans, Tester delivered grants worth more than $9 million to six different health care facilities that serve the Crow, Northern Cheyenne, Fort Belknap, and Rocky Boy reservations, as well as Native Americans living in urban areas.
Montana has about 40 community health centers that serve over 100,000 patients each year.
The Bullhook Community Health Center in Havre received over $1.8 million and the Indian Family Health Clinic in Great Falls received over $202,000. Bighorn Valley Heath Center in Hardin received the biggest grant for over $6.5 million, and the Helena Indian Alliance received nearly $165,000. The Missoula Urban Indian Health Clinic got almost $180,000 and the Native American Development Corporation in Billings received $200,000.
