SHELBY, Mont. (NMB) – Toole County has become the first area on the Hi-Line facing a local COVID-19 outbreak.
As of Sunday morning, there are four confirmed COVID-19 cases in Toole County.
A press release Friday from Marias Medical Center in Shelby says several of the confirmed cases are employees of their facility.
The release also states that, “this situation also exposed others to COVID-19 and, as such, we expect that there could be other positives. The appropriate detailed surveillance, interventions, and containment strategies are under way and appropriate steps will be taken. As a reminder and as part of our investigation, anyone who meets the surveillance criteria for contact with these employees will be notified by the Toole County Health Department.”
According to the Department of Public Health and Human Services, the five confirmed COVID-19 cases between Toole and Liberty Counties are:
- Female between the ages of 10 and 19
- Female in their 40s
- Female in their 60s
- Female in their 70s
- Female in their 80s
Marias Medical Center is beginning a personal protective equipment donation drive. Donations are asked to be dropped off at the Materials Management door of the hospital Monday through Friday from 7 AM to 3 PM.
