MISSOULA, Mont. (NMB) – The Missoulian reports that the University of Montana is being sued by three former and one current employee who are alleging that they were victims of sex-based discrimination.
The lawsuit was filed in U.S. District Court on Wednesday, with the plaintiffs arguing that the University “denied female employees the benefits of their long dedication to UM’s educational programs.”
In a statement, the University of Montana and the Montana University System say that they “strongly believe these claims are baseless and without merit,”adding that they look forward to defending themselves in court.
Catherine Cole, Barbara Koostra, Mary-Ann Sontag Bowman and Rhondie Voorhees are the plaintiffs, and they claim that UM President Seth Bodner “took the reins” of the University’s “unequal treatment of women.”
