Unemployment Sees Slight Increase in June, Labor Force Grows

HELENA, Mont. (NMB) – Montana’s unemployment rate in June was 3.7 percent, a 0.1 percent increase from May.

However, Montana’s labor force grew by more than 2,000 workers, while total employment grew by 1,800 workers. This means that labor force participation grew at a slightly faster pace than total employment.

Officials with the state Department of Labor and Industry say this report is encouraging for employers that are trying to fill open positions during the ongoing summer tourist season.
