HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Early Friday morning, a man was arrested for trying to use a fake $100 bill at a Havre business. Havre Police Chief Gabe Matosich says 29-year old Skylar Briggs of Utah has been charged with forgery or counterfeit and as of Friday morning, he was being held at the Hill County Detention Center on $585 bond.
Matosich says they received the call from the Lucky Lil’s casino shortly before 1 AM Friday alleging Briggs tried to use a bill that looked like real money, but clearly had “play money” and “not legal tender” printed on it.
Matosich says that this bill is not connected to the counterfeit $100 bills that were discovered last week.
