The Fort Belknap Reservation is having a problem with their sewage system. The lagoon is at capacity and is causing a dilemma as they look to develop new housing projects.
Bradley Fox the Grant Management Specialist explains the problem as well as a temporary solution.
“Currently at the agency here we’re operating at capacity with our lagoon for our municipal system. We’re looking at alternative methods for our waste management. One being a temporary drainage field for our new subdevelopment which would have quite a large drainage field that would temporarily address that waste management need until we can add more cells to our existing lagoon, and then implement a lift station to tap into that municipal system, but it’s years down the road. So, we need to come up with solutions soon.”-Bradley Fox
