Williston Man Killed in Crash on US 2

BAINVILLE, Mont. (NMB) – A 23-year-old Williston, North Dakota man was killed in a two vehicle crash on US 2 in Roosevelt County on Tuesday night.

The Montana Highway Patrol reports that the crash occurred at 11:16 PM at mile marker 662, when an eastbound Chevy Silverado passed a Dodge Ram. However, the Silverado merged back into the eastbound lane before it fully passed the Ram. The Silverado sideswiped the Ram and the driver overcorrected, entered a broadside slide of over 300 feet before leaving the pavement where it tipped and rolled several times before coming to rest on its wheels, facing south.

The driver of the Silverado, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. Alcohol and excessive speed are both believed to be factors in the crash.

The driver of the Ram, a 24-year-old man from Williston, was not injured. He was also not wearing a seatbelt.
