Yellowstone National Park Advises People to Stay Away from Bull Elk

(Yellowstone) – Yellowstone National Park Service put out a warning to inform people to stay away from bull elk in the park, especially since their mating season has begun.

Yellowstone Park service warn that bull elk are unpredictable during this time of year and people have been severely injured due to encounters with them. People are advised to maintain 25 yards from elk if they do see them and to back away immediately if they see them approach. If a elk does charge people are advised to quickly find shelter in a vehicle or behind a tall sturdy barrier. if a shelter does not exist people are advised to run away.
