2024 Frontier Conference Basketball Tournament Preview

The end of the Frontier Conference basketball season wrapped up over the weekend and it’s now on to the 2024 Frontier Conference Tournament at the Four Seasons Arena in Great Falls.

Day 1 of postseason play begins on Thursday as the No. 5 seeded MSU-Northern Lights (11-17, 3-12 in the Frontier) battle the No. 4 Montana Western Bulldogs (13-15, 6-9) in the opening game of the tournament at 1pm. Northern’s most recent win in conference play came against Western back on Feb. 15, (72-68). That contest will be followed with the conclusion of men’s coverage for the day as No. 6 Rocky Mountain College (12-16, 3-12) takes on No. 3 Providence (14-14, 6-8) around 3pm.

The women’s bracket begins with No. 4 MSU-Northern (11-17, 5-10) leading off around 5pm as they face No. 5 Rocky Mountain College (15-12, 4-11) in a rematch of the Skylights’ most recent conference win, (71-62) a week ago Saturday. The final game of Day 1 features No. 6 Montana Tech (12-16, 3-12) and No. 3 Montana Western (16-12, 8-7), which gets going around 7pm.

The lowest remaining seed from the men’s side after the first day will first face No. 1 Montana Tech (24-4, 14-1) on Friday afternoon at 1pm, while the highest remaining seed will get No. 2 Carroll (18-10, 12-3) around 3pm.

The action continues Friday night with the women’s side and the same scenarios as the lowest seed remaining will take on No. 1 Carroll (23-4, 14-1) around 5pm and the highest remaining seed faces Providence (20-8, 11-4) around 7pm.
