HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – On Thursday, hundreds of people gathered at the St. Jude Parish Center in Havre for a community thanksgiving dinner.
Organizer Debi Rhines says that the cold and snowy weather kept some people away, which contributed to their lower numbers this year. They still sent out over 700 plates of food between the dinner service, deliveries to the homebound, and feeding their volunteers. The majority of those meals were delivered to the homebound, again likely due to the weather.
They also had about 140 volunteers throughout the process. The dinner has been sponsored by an anonymous donor for decades.
