HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – All Farm Service Agency service centers have reopened to provide the majority of FSA services needed by farmers and ranchers during this critical time of the year for agricultural operations.
Havre FSA Executive Director Russell Snedigar says the USDA has recalled thousands of FSA employees to keep their office open from 8 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday for two weeks, until February 8th. In the following weeks, their offices will be open three days a week, Tuesdays, Wednesday, and Thursdays.
Snedigar says that employees will be paid, but not until the federal government shutdown has ended.
Agricultural producers who have business with the agency should contact their local FSA Office to make an appointment. The deadline to apply and complete applications for the Market Facilitation Program has been extended to February 14th.
FSA can provide most services as they are critical for farmers and ranchers and have mandatory program funds available, but there are some programs that will not be available.
