RYEGATE, Mont. (NMB) – A 16-year-old boy from Ryegate was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Golden Valley County on Thursday afternoon.
The Montana Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred at around 12:12 PM, when a northbound Saturn Ion was traveling on Secondary Road 238. For unknown reasons, the driver steered sharp to the left. The vehicle slid broadside to the right before exiting the road to the left. The vehicle struck a fence and overturned.
The driver, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Alcohol, drugs or excessive speed are all not suspected factors in the crash.
