HAVRE, Mont. (NMB) – Havre Public Schools reported 12 District-associated COVID-19 cases on Friday.
All five schools in the District reported at least one new COVID-19 case, with four individuals associated with Havre Middle School testing positive for the virus. 11 of the 12 cases required contact tracing.
The one case associated with Sunnyside School did not have to be contact-traced since the person had been off-site, according to a press release.
The release adds that parents now have two options if their child is labeled a close-contact: they can either take advantage of off-site learning or send asymptomatic students to school.
The District is continuing to encourage students to stay home if symptomatic.
The Hill County Health Department will continue to trace close contacts until they are no longer able to keep up with the number of individuals who need to be contacted.
A close contact is defined as someone who has been within six feet for longer than 15 minutes during a 24-hour period to someone who tests positive for COVID-19.
The District has rapid COVID-19 testing available to students and staff at the Robins Administrative Building.
