BILLINGS, Mont. (NMB) – The Billings Gazette reports that bond has been set at $1 million for 21-year-old Brandon Eugene Bird, who facing six felony charges after allegedly going on a slashing and stabbing spree in downtown Billings on Wednesday evening.
Bird had an initial appearance on Friday morning in Yellowstone County District Court, where he pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of assault with a weapon, two felony counts of robbery, and a misdemeanor count of resisting arrest.
Five people were wounded, three were taken to area hospitals.
Bird was fired from his job as a dishwasher at Jake’s Restaurant earlier in the day after a recent altercation with another employee.
According to reports, just before 6 PM on Wednesday, Bird allegedly returned to the restaurant, grabbed two steak knives, and yelled “give me all your money.” Bird then allegedly came after the employees and injured several of them. He then allegedly left the restaurant and confronted people on the street, and then returned back into the restaurant and injured another two employees.
