Montana Attorney General Talks about his Human Trafficking PSA’s

(Havre) – On July 14th Attorney General Austin Knudsen launched a television PSA in hopes of combating human trafficking in Montana. Attorney General Knudsen explains what inspired him to make the PSA’s.

You know I got really educated about human trafficking once I started running for attorney general. I was a small-town County attorney on The High Line I’m from Roosevelt County even further east of here and human trafficking wasn’t something I dealt with. Or at least I didn’t think I did you know and I think most Montana’s maybe don’t realize just how prevalent human trafficking really is in Montana. As I’ve had this job now for a few years I’ve learned more about it we pealed the onion back and what we find is that human trafficking is quite pervasive in Montana. I really wanted to do something to try to get the word out to Montanans that, yeah, this is a problem in Montana this isn’t just an LA thing this isn’t just a Chicago thing this isn’t just an East Coast thing. And you’ve probably yourself seen a victim of human trafficking and just didn’t know what you were looking at. So that was the idea behind the PSA’s and we really wanted to get the word out.
