Box Elder boys’ basketball coach Jeremy MacDonald was recently named the 2023-24 “Montana Coaches Association” Coach of the Year for basketball State Class ‘C’.
MacDonald has been the Box Elder coach since 2011 and guided the Bears to three Class ‘C’ state championships: 2014, 2016, and 2024. The 2023-24 season included an undefeated run of (26-0) with district, divisional, and state championship tournament run-throughs. All but one player should be returning for the 2024-25 Box Elder Bears with the core going into their senior seasons.
In addition to being the head coach, MacDonald is the superintendent of Box Elder Public Schools, where is also an alumnus of the high school, graduating in 1997. He has had stints at both Rocky Boy and Box Elder has a player, coach, and educator.
MacDonald and a bunch of other coaches from around the Treasure State will be honored on Aug. 1 in Great Falls at CMR High School with the 2024 MCA Awards beginning at 11:30am.
