Bozeman seeks solution for long road closures

(Bozeman) Construction season is getting closer, and with that comes road closures, and the City of Bozeman is working on a new plan to keep those closures as short as possible.

The City is in the process of making changes to permits needed for blocking roadways through construction projects or any other means.

The city wants to keep closures short, and they’re doing this through a new ordinance that will change the permit cost to be based on the length of road and the amount of time it will be closed, right now it’s simply based on square footage that is taken up by crews.

The city commission has voted to initially adopt the ordinance and resolution that will make this change. They’ll take a final vote in the coming weeks
